Daxi Convention Hall
Daxi Convention Hall (old name Daxi Hotel) is situated in Daxi Zhongzheng Park (was called Daxi Park) terrace. It can look futher to Dahan River and has a board view and scenery. Daxi Convention Hall has been established in 1921, and renewed in 1932 (Showa Year 7). The building is decorated with red bricks and white mortar, belonging to Chen Yeh style originated from Anne of Great Britain.
Daxi Convention Hall includes the two major convention halls that were built during the Japanese colonial rule and the Jiang Jie-shi summer residence. As the building is of extremely high historical value, Taiwan’s Council for Cultural Affairs and the Taoyuan County Government categorized it as “Taoyuan County Local Culture Hall” and drew up plans for literary and art activities.
Plans for the interior space in the park include a convention hall, literary and art hall, art workshop, and garden. Activities will include special literary and art shows, guide services, performances, lectures, discussion forums, seminars, a Jiang Jie-shi memorial room, art sales, and catering services. Tourists can view Dahan Creek in the distance from the outdoor café.
